The Daily Scoop | Joyland amusement park announces auction
The Joyland amusement park announced that park items, such as office supplies and golf carts will be up for auction on May 28 and 29. On May 23 and 24 from 1 PM to 6 PM, those who are interested can preview any items in the auction. This will be the only time to view these items. For more information, click here.

United and South Plains Food Bank will provide pollinator garden at Carolyn Lanier Youth Farm
The United Supermarkets Floral Department and South Plains Food Bank are partnering to establish a pollinator garden at the Carolyn Lanier Youth Farm. The youth farm produces 50,000 fruits and vegetables a year to help those who are facing food insecurity. Click here to learn more about the project.
Lubbock Symphony Orchestra to celebrate Selena’s legacy
Led by Music Director David Cho and joined by Isabel Marie Sánchez, the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra will celebrate the music and legacy of Selena on September 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts & Sciences. The night of performances will include the singer’s top hits such as “Como la Flor,” “I Could Fall in Love,” and “Dreaming of You.”
Tickets begin at $33 and will be available for purchase on April 16 at lubbocksymphony.org.

Women’s tennis plays West Virginia at 5 PM.

Visit an immersive attraction all about your favorite furry friends at the Science Spectrum! There, you can learn about canine and feline body types, personalities, physical skills, and more. This weekend, the 46th Annual Lubbock Arts Festival will take place at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center. This year’s theme is “Colorama,” and the event will be a colorful celebration of art and creativity. Guests can experience special visual art exhibits and live performances that feature singers, actors, and dancers. General admission is $5 online or $7 at the door. Children 12 years-old and under can attend for free if a parent or guardian is present.
