Today is Reel Film Day, which celebrates the art of independent films and theaters. If you love movies, then you’ll love tomorrow’s event at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema. 

This month’s installment of Sexism in Cinema is “The Lost King,” a movie about an amateur historian who hopes to uncover the remains of King Richard III. The film is based on the book “The King’s Grave: The Search for Richard III” and stars Sally Hawkins, Harry Lloyd, and Steve Coogan. 

The cinema partners with the Texas Tech University Women’s Studies program for this special screening. Following the film will be a mini-lecture and post-discussion about its themes.

The Weird Space art gallery announced that they will host a book fair this Saturday from 4 PM to 8 PM. Reminiscent of the old school Scholastic Book Fairs, this event will have something fun for everyone. For more information, click here

TTU hosts swing competition this Thursday
